Lease Extensions

We act for leaseholders looking to extend their leases, as well as landlords dealing with lease extension claims.

This includes both statutory lease extensions and informal agreements. We advise on the process, deal with the service of notices, and assist with negotiations. Where terms cannot be agreed, we represent clients in applications to the First-tier Tribunal.

We work closely with valuers where needed and ensure that the process is handled correctly from the outset.

Enfranchisement

We advise on collective enfranchisement, including where leaseholders seek to acquire the freehold of a building.

We also act for landlords responding to such claims. Our role is to ensure the process is dealt with properly, that notices are valid, and that negotiations are handled in a structured and commercially sensible way.

Service Charges & Management Issues

We are regularly instructed in disputes involving service charges, administration charges and the management of leasehold properties.

This includes challenges to the reasonableness of charges, disputes over major works and issues with managing agents. We also deal with applications to the First-tier Tribunal where required.
